“The Snoopy Show”, a new original series from Peanuts and WildBrain featuring the lovable pup and his avian friend. The show premiered on Friday, February 5, 2021 on AppleTV+.
Rob Boutilier is Supervising Director, alongside episodic directors Ridd Sorensen, Behzah Mansoori and Steve Evangelatos. Alex Galatis is the Executive Story Editor. Josh Scherba, Anne Loi, Stephanie Betts, Paige Braddock, Craig Schulz and Mark Evestaff executive produce.
The series will see the titular beagle in his various personas including Joe Cool, Masked Marvel, and World War I Flying Ace. The new series will consist of three, seven-minute cartoons based on the iconic comic series. Cherished Peanuts characters set to appear, include Charlie Brown, Lucy, Linus, Franklin, Schroeder, and Peppermint Patty.
Each episode of “The Snoopy Show” consists of three separate stories involving Snoopy and his close companion Woodstock. We watch the pair build a snowman, write their memoirs, and help Charlie Brown (voiced by Ethan Pugiotto) confess his love for the little red-haired girl.
Compared to other children’s series where the lesson is front and center, “The Snoopy Show” isn’t particularly preachy. As Snoopy and the rest of the Peanuts engage in the plot, morals are subtly discussed, ranging from learning to live with others different than you to finding happiness in the simple things. For a kid’s show, it’s pretty amazing how much the series aims at teaching real-world life skills.
