THE CREW SEASON 1:
Created by Jeff Lowell, and starring Kevin James, “The Crew” is an American comedy streaming television series centring life in the garage that swerves off track for a NASCAR crew chief, Bobby Spencer Racing and his tight-knit racing team when a new boss steps in and shakes things up that premiered on Monday, February 15, 2021, on Netflix with a set of ten episodes.
From showrunner Jeff Lowell (“The Ranch”), the workplace comedy stars James as Kevin, the bumbling crew chief of a middling Nascar racing team, whose job becomes a lot more complicated after the team’s owner retires and puts his millennial daughter Catherine (Jillian Mueller) in charge.

The business woman’s Stanford education and silicon valley experience could benefit the company’s finances, yet her immediate decisions don’t please crew chief Kevin Gibson (James). Rather than sticking with the regular driver Jake Martin (Freddie Stroma), Catherine plans to replace him with Jessie De La Cruz (Paris Berelc). She also changes the day-t0-day office dynamics and awkwardly attempts to pretend that she’s part of the gang and not a stoic entrepreneur who’s mostly concerned about the bottom line.
“I still love the format of being in the sitcom world, but the workplace comedy is different for me,” James tells TVLine. “This world is something I didn’t know much about… It was a great opportunity to do something different, but still familiar.”
