SOLAR OPPOSITES SEASON 2:

Originally created by Rick and Morty co-creator Justin Roiland and Mike McMahan for Fox Entertainment Company but later shelved and brought by Hulu, “Solar Opposites” is an American adult animated sitcom centering around a family of aliens from a better world who are forced to take refuge in middle America, and disagrees on whether Earth is awful or awesome and first debuted on May 8, 2020.

The latest season premiered on Friday, March 26, 2021, on Hulu.

Korvo isn’t happy about living on earth as he deems the culture awful, while his more optimistic partner, Terry, is fascinated by the human culture and finds it awesome. Their child-replicants, Yumyulack and Jesse, try to fit into their new surroundings and also have opposing views on different aspects of the culture. The sometimes dysfunctional family tries to make the best of their time on earth while Korvo tries to fix their space shuttle so they can leave earth.

Korvo (voiced by series co-creator Justin Roiland) is the detail-oriented team leader. Human culture enthusiast Terry (Thomas Middleditch) is the absent-minded slacker. Disaffected teen Yumyulack (Sean Giambrone) is quickly becoming a terror to everyone at his otherwise unassuming junior high school. As inventive as “Solar Opposites” is in spurts, Season 2 shows how much the main four characters are relatively indistinguishable from each other. When trouble inevitably comes to the group (almost surely through one of their own decisions/mistakes), equilibrium gets restored by everyone reacting pretty much the same way.
