Created by Alexi Hawley, The Rookie is an American police procedural television series. The series follows John Nolan, a man in his forties, who becomes the oldest rookie at the Los Angeles Police Department. Hawley is the executive producer alongside Nathan Fillion, Mark Gordon, Nicholas Pepper, Michelle Chapman, Jon Steinberg, Liz Friedlander, and William Norcross.

The first season of the show premiered on October 16, 2018, followed by the second on September 29, 2019. The third season was released on January 3, 2021, and the fourth premiered on September 26, 2021. The show has received positive reviews from critics and it has been already renewed for a sixth season.

The Rookie Season 6 Plot

In the previous season of The Rookie, we got to see that the police cornered Reynolds at the USS Iowa Museum and also shot him. Bradford then makes a decision to join her sister but also says no to visiting her father, and later endorses Nolan for a union representative.

Meanwhile, Lopez creates a RICO case against Stone but finds that Evers told Grey as well that they plan to use Evers as an informant. The upcoming season will pick up from this spot and it remains to be seen what happens next.

The Rookie Season 6 Release Date and Cast

ABC renewed the series for a sixth season on April 17, 2023, but the official release date of The Rookie is yet to be announced. Since the series is renewed recently so, it is expected that it will be premiered in 2024.

The Rookie is an ABC original series and as such, episodes air live directly on the broadcast network. For those that have cut ties with traditional cable/satellite television, ABC is available to stream on live TV streaming services such as Fubo TV, Hulu with Live TV, and YouTube TV.

Now coming to the cast, we should get to see Nathan Fillion, Alyssa Diaz, Richard T. Jones, Melissa O’Neil, Eric Winter, Mekia Cox, and Shawn Ashmore in the lead roles. Further additions to the lead and recurring cast are expected to be announced soon.
