Created by Dick Wolf, Law & Order is a police procedural and legal drama series, made for NBC. Wolf is also the executive producer alongside Peter Jankowski, Rick Eid, and Arthur W. Forney.

The series first premiered on September 13, 1990, and ran for 20 more seasons on NBC. The latest season was released on February 24, 2022, and concluded on May 19, 2022. The series received positive reviews and has been rated 7.8/10 on IMDb. The series has been already renewed for a 23rd season, which is soon coming on NBC.

Law & Order Plot and Cast

Since Law & Order was recently renewed for a 23rd season, details related to the plot about the upcoming seasons is too less. However, it will continue from where Season 22 ended.

The basic premise of the show follows a two-part approach: the first half-hour is the investigation of a crime, usually murder, and apprehension of a suspect by New York City Police Department detectives; the second half is the prosecution of the defendant by the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office. Plots are often based on real cases that recently made headlines, although the motivation for the crime and the perpetrator may be different.

Coming to the cast, there have been frequent changes since the show’s premiere in 1990. However, sources around the internet state that Christopher Meloni, Kelli Giddish, Philip Winchester, and Anthony Anderson would play the lead roles. Further additions are expected to be announced soon.

Law & Order was canceled by NBC in 2010 and it was later revived for Season 21, which premiered in February 2022. It was renewed for a 22nd season in May 2022, which premiered on September 22, 2022.
