Why is ‘The Lucifer’ season 6 not happening?

Nobody did ever imagine ‘Lucifer’ would wrap up so soon. It was and still is loved by its fans. And still being in all this good condition. Then why was the series canceled for its season 6 renewal?

As we all know, ‘Lucifer’ was earlier canceled by the channel network Fox. And then it was adopted by the online streaming platform Netflix. However, now it is said that ‘Lucifer’ didn’t attract much audience as it was needed to. That in fact, affected the viewership rating. And hence, it was canceled by Fox TV.

Talking about season 6, it got canceled. However, it is stated that the series ‘Lucifer’ was originally meant to be of 5 seasons only. Hence, we won’t get another season after that.

Tom Ellis was certainly not ready to hear the news just like us. And hence, in an interview with the ‘Los Angeles Times’, he gave his statement on it – “It was rather an upsetting experience to be canceled. I was not ready for the show to be over.”

The cast of ‘Lucifer’ season 5

The star cast of the series consists of:

Tom Ellis as the main character Lucifer Morningstar, Lauren German played the character of Detective Chloe Decker, and Kevin Alejandro played Detective Daniel “Dan” Espinoza.

D.B. Woodside played Amenadiel, Lesley-Ann Brandt as Mazikeen, and Scarlett Estevez as Beatrice “Trixie” Espinoza.

The Storyline

The series follows the voyage of the main protagonists. Lucifer’s character has been adapted from the DC Comics ‘The Sandman’. However, ‘Lucifer’ wasn’t the lead character in the comics, but was the supporting character.

The story shows that ‘Lucifer’ is bored with his life. Hence, he abandons Hell for Los Angeles. He opens his own nightclub there. He also becomes the Consultant to the LAPD (Los Angeles Police Department).

The release date of ‘Lucifer’ season 5

The filming of season 5 of the series ‘Lucifer’ has been stopped at the near end. The reason behind is the same as for the other shows and movies’ delaying. Pandemic COVID-19 delayed the series getting released. Hence, no official announcement of the release date been made by the team.
