American Horror Stories is an upcoming anthology television series. The series will be a spinoff of the famous anthology series, American Horror Story. However, unlike AHS, American Horror Stories will be more self-contained, showcasing a different storyline in each episode, instead of an entire season. American Horror Stories will also be created by Ryan Murphy, the co-creator of AHS.
Ryan Murphy had teased the development of the series in an Instagram post on May 11, 2020. On May 26, 2020, FX gave a series order for American Horror Stories.
Potential Cast of American Horror Stories
American Horror Stories is likely to feature a lot of cast members from American Horror Story. This might include AHS series regulars such as Sarah Paulson, Kathy Bates, Evan Peters, Finn Wittrock, Lily Rabe, Emma Roberts, and Lily Rabe. Any official announcement has not yet been made regarding the cast, but these are the names that are most likely to feature in the series.
Sarah Paulson, who has appeared on nine out of ten seasons of AHS, will also be serving as a director on American Horror Stories. However, she also stated that she does not know if she will be starring in the series as well or not, besides directing it.
“I don’t know if I’m going to be in it but I do think I’m going to be directing it.”
American Horror Stories – More updates and news
Extensive details about American Horror Stories are still sparse. However, Ryan Murphy did state that each episode of the new series will feature a new individual ghost story. So it is likely that the series will focus more on the supernatural for its source material.
American Horror Stories was first announced to be a new series on FX. On June 22, however, it was announced that the series will air on the sister streaming service FX on Hulu instead. There has been no official release date announced for the series. Since it is still in developmental stages, we can expect American Horror Stories to premiere some time towards the end of 2021.
