Animal Well started development in 2017. In January 2023, YouTuber videogameunkey announced that Animal Well would be the first game released by his indie game publisher Bigmode. The game is expected to come out in 2024 and it is going to release for PlayStation 5, Windows, and Nintendo Switch.
