Apple says goodbye to its iTunes application

Back in 2001, the co-founder and then CEO of Apple introduced iTunes at the Macworld Expo. The event took place in San Francisco. iTunes created a music revolution by bringing digital music in the 21st century. Now, after almost two decades the company is going to announce the shut down of this service at its developer’s conference which is going to happen on this Monday, reported by Bloomberg.

Apple bid adieu to its iTunes

With WWDC coming up next week, Apple is going to ditch this classic software in favor of separate applications for music, videos, and podcasts. The company is now planning to bring the application which we use on iPhones. Like Apple music, Apple TV and Podcasts to companies own macOS. This project is codenamed Project Marzipan. As mentioned earlier iTunes has been the primary way for the users to buy, organize and listen the music. But over the same period of time, it has been becoming slow and unusable. When compared to the recent software or application services by the company.

The previous reports have also suggested that the new version will be created specifically for Apple Music. The reports also claim that the service is likely to keep most of the same features including song purchases and phone syncing. Few people took to Twitter on Friday with concerns regarding the forthcoming shutdown of the iTunes. One of the users tweeted out if the purchased music from iTunes will transfer to the Apple Music without having to pay. The other user inquired about unused iTunes gift cards. Apple Support on Twitter answered most of the question son Twitter immediately.

Apart from this, Apple is expected to show off new versions of iOS, MacOS, WatchOS, and TVOS. According to the reports, Apple core applications are going to get major revamp including Reminders, Apple Books, Home, Messages and Mail. For more WWDC coverage stay tuned with us!
