Cabinet of Curiosities is an upcoming Netflix Original horror anthology series created by Guillermo del Toro. J. Miles Dale, the producer of del Toro’s academy award-winning The Shape of Water will work on the Original as an executive producer, alongside Gary Ungar.
But, what exactly is the Cabinet of Curiosities? When is the show coming out? Who’s going to be in it?
Cabinet of Curiosities: Cast and Plot!
As the cast, they had confirmed only Essie Davis and Luke Roberts at first. Essie Davis will be portraying the role of a mother who has lost her daughter. The character has been described as “distant and distracted.” Davis is known for her work on The White Princess, Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries. Also, the movie adaptation of the video game Assassin’s Creed. Another confirmed actor is Luke Roberts, who eagle-eyed Game of Thrones fans will recognize as Ser Arthur Dayne.
The plot has not been revealed yet. But we are assuming that as a horror anthology series, Cabinet of Curiosities will offer subscribers a different horrifyingly scary storytelling experience with each episode.
Here are the details of the first episode: Essie Davis, Andrew Lincoln, and Hannah Galway star in an episode written (based on an original story by del Toro) and directed by Jennifer Kent. Also, check out the details of the last episode: Haley Z. Boston writes an episode directed by Ana Lily Amipour, with a cast to be confirmed.
Cabinet of Curiosities: Trailer and Release date!
The trailer of the series has not been revealed yet. But here’s a clip we collected. In the clip you’ll get an idea about what Guillermo del Toro wanted to portray in his book of the same name.
There is a chance we may not see the Cabinet of Curiosities in 2022 as well, but this is highly dependent on the length of the post-production process.
The best-case scenario is we’ll see Cabinet of Curiosities released as a part of Netflix’s 2022 Halloween line-up.
