Crash Land by Wingman Review – Seeking Opportunity In Mishap

Published

on

Sometimes, the most unexpected circumstances could pose as an opportunity in disguise. But only truly talented people can recognize the hidden opportunities. Fortunately, musician Wingman is precisely that person – and he proves it with his latest music video, “Crash Land”.

The story of this music video began when Wingman and his crew were flying to shoot for another music video. However, a strong downdraft of air forced their personal helicopter to land in the solitary mountains of California’s central coast, about 20 miles away from the nearest human settlement. For hours, the young artist and his cameraman Matt Trainor hiked over the mountainous region, without any resources for support. After a long time, they managed to get cell service on their phones and called a rescue team that arrived in a few hours to help them.

This might have been the end of this tumultuous experience, but Wingman saw something different. During the whole ordeal, Trainor had managed to capture a lot of striking footage of their crash landing, hike, and rescue operation. The exhaustive footage covered the stress and hope they faced while they looked for help. Wingman decided to convert this experience into something unusual and innovative. Thus, the idea of “Crash Land” took shape.

The music video begins with Wingman, high up in the air with the majestic human civilization beneath his feet. Subsequent shots show him searching for help in the solitary plains, and the rescue team finally finding them. The scenes are matched by the upbeat music and the deep, magnetic voice of Wingman. The song speaks of his experience, including what went through his mind during this harrowing experience. The lyrics go from anxiety and struggle to hope and relief. But Wingman doesn’t merely speak about his own experience of a crash landing. The song is a metaphor for the general struggle people face in their lives, and how not giving up will finally lead them to a happy ending. Overall, the song is a good electronic rap, but the unusual and unexpected music video is what makes it truly amazing.

Growing up, Wingman was always fascinated by the beats that make great music. Artists like Kasbo and Flume were his inspiration and inspired him to mix rap with electronic beats. This was the beginning of the electronic/rap musician, who is currently based in Los Angeles.

Recently, Wingman found great success with his talent. Songs like “F Up My Life” and “Distracted” were hits among the masses. “Weird New Feelings”, the title track of his latest album, instantly became a favorite. It is no wonder that the young artist has more than 5 million streams in a short span of time. But Wingman is in no mood of slowing down. He is already working on new music and new ways of sharing his story with his listeners.

Crash Land” is now streaming on Spotify, while the music video is available on YouTube. Follow Wingman on Instagram for the latest updates on the artist.
