Created by Ben Falcone, God’s Favorite Idiot is an upcoming American workplace comedy streaming television series created by and starring Ben Falcone for Netflix. In December 2020, Netflix gave a 16-episode series order to God’s Favorite Idiot. Ben Falcone along with Melissa McCarthy, Michael McDonald, and Steve Mallory are the executive producers of the show.
Filming began in Byron Bay and Ballina in northern New South Wales in March 2021 and wrapped up in early June 2021 after shooting only eight episodes. The other batch of eight episodes will be filmed at a later date. The series will consist of sixteen episodes, and the first batch of eight episodes will premiere on June 15, 2022.

God’s Favorite Idiot Plot and Cast
The synopsis of the show follows Clark Thompson, who is a mid-level tech support employee, who takes saunas with his dad, Gene, pines after his co-worker Emily, and loves his cats. When he starts to glow, he begins to realize this isn’t an average day at the office and God has bigger plans for him.
Clark can’t save mankind by himself, he must gather his flock of mismatched co-workers, his longtime crush Emily and angelic allies to outwit Satan herself. Together, they’re just a bunch of average humans coming together for the greater good because, after all, you can’t save the world alone.
The lead cast members for the upcoming show includes Ben Falcone as Clark Thompson, Melissa McCarthy as Emily Luck, Leslie Bibb as Satan, Kevin Dunn as Gene, Yanic Truesdale as Chamuel, Usman Ally as Mohsin Raza, Ana Scotney as Wendy, Chris Sandiford as Tom and Steve Mallory as Frisbee.
God’s Favorite Idiot Release Date
The series will launch on Wednesday, June 15, 2022, exclusively on Netflix and will be available for streaming to all those who are the subscribers of the streaming platform. Filming for the series began in March 2021 and ended in June 2021.
The makers revealed that there are eight episodes total in the show’s first season. It was initially supposed to have 16 episodes but the filming for the rest of the episodes have been postponed to a later date.
