Google Stadia vs NextGen Consoles – What’s in store for the Gamers?

2020 is shaping up to be a really exciting moment for console gamers. They have got two next-gen consoles going with the PS5 and Xbox Series X. As well as the upcoming Google Stadia streaming platform. But, with all three of them sharing a lot of similarities, how one is going to choose which one works best for them?

Sony released the full PlayStation 5 (PS5) specs. According to the product, the GPU tends to have a peak performance of 10.28 teraflops (TFLOPs), but its initial value is around 9.2. Moreover, the Xbox Series X and Google Stadia beat the device on paper.

Google has cited the efficiency of a single Stadia case at 10.7 teraflops. It is almost double that of Microsoft’s Xbox One X, and two and a half times that of PlayStation 4 Pro’s 4.2 teraflops. Stadia will also have a solid-state backup system and 16 GB of RAM. Google is pretty reserved about mentioning the Stadia GPU. But it looks like it has capabilities on both the present version and the next generation.

Google Stadia

Stadia is an online gaming platform operated by Google. It is marketed to be capable of broadcasting video games up to 4K resolution at 60 fps with support for high-dynamic range, to gamers around the world via the company’s various data centers, providing that they have reasonably high-speed Internet service.

It does a lot of things right. In addition to delivering remarkably pleasant output with little-to-no lag on network. The service provides on-the-go streaming on mobile devices as well as home streaming on PCs and Chromecasts.

There have been a lot of small issues plaguing the service that should be resolved in time-like the way Stadia treats its Pro packages and restricted game selection. While a few big ones including the fact that a range of apps like Google Assistant and YouTube Gaming functionality is not currently supported.

But if Google would clear up the uncertainty surrounding Pro, extend the Stadia Game Catalog, and turn on all the apps it promised. It might be the end-to-end game streaming network.

Next-Gen Consoles

PS5 is next-generation PlayStation, with a launch date of late 2020. While Sony has stayed tight-lipped about its upcoming console. It has offered a few juicy specifics of what one can anticipate from its next-gen product.

Sony’s latest PlayStation & Microsoft’s latest Xbox are quite close, particularly compared to previous console generations. They are operated by similar processors, similar volumes of memory, and similar levels of storage.

Microsoft and Sony are using AMD’s Navi processors to create their consoles faster than ever before and solid-state hard drives to significantly minimize load times. They will use GDDR6 RAM for memory purposes. In one way, Sony has been marginally more precise than Microsoft: the PlayStation 5 would have an AMD Ryzen-based CPU.

With the server-grade architecture of Stadia and the ability to harness the strength of several GPUs to a degree. It seems like it edges out PS5. However, the true test is going to happen when games will be compared to all platforms.
