Is there any Release Set for Call of Duty 2020 this Year?

As the world awaits the unveiling of Infinity Ward’s Call of Duty. The all but verified Modern Warfare 4, good old Kotaku-based Jason Schreier has learned some very curious information about next year’s Call of Duty.

Every year a new COD title is published starting from the first Call Of Duty edition back in 2003. Somewhere in April-May, Activision typically releases a new release. Nevertheless, considering the pandemic condition at COVID-19, there could be gaps in the release of Call Of Duty 2020.

There have been numerous rumors and leaks over the last few months surrounding the Call of Duty title this year. Nearly all of them referred to one word- Call of Duty Cold War.

Call of Duty 2020 Postponed?

Schreier’s sources suggest that Call of Duty 2020 was to be developed in Vietnam during the Cold War. Yet the friction between Raven and Sledgehammer has been so extreme the Activision has agreed to postpone the partnership a bit too soon. That doesn’t mean we won’t have our yearly Call of Duty this year.

With only a few months left before the usual annual fall release date for Call of Duty, some fans are beginning to worry whether they will even be seeing a new chapter of the shooter series of 2020. The game still has yet to be released by Activision.

Activision’s absence may mean a great many things. The shutdowns triggered by the pandemic might have induced a pause in the production of the game or may have prevented retailers from fulfilling unit demands for the fall.

How long will fans wait to learn more about Call of Duty 2020? Despite July now coming upon us and just two months out from the fall season. Activision will have to reveal something early if it wants to have plenty of time to promote the game before shipping it later this year.

These are just speculations and rumors. For some, we can not say anything until Treyarch makes some kind of official announcement about the game. But, because the game has been postponed, we will at least see a release of this year’s title soon.

Activision Blizzard has announced the cancelation of all home series Call of Duty League activities for 2020 due to the distribution of COVID-19. Instead, the matches are played online and broadcasted to fans. The company canceled all home events of the Overwatch League series from April.
