John Wick has been one of the most famous hitmen in the world. The character has been portrayed beautifully on camera by Keanu Reeves. There have been three John Wick films so far, with the third one ending on a cliffhanger. However, there will be another John Wick film in the franchise, one that we hope will answer all the questions after John Wick- Chapter 3: Parabellum. John Wick 4 will be directed by Chad Stahelski, who has also directed the other three John Wick films.
The Story of John Wick so far
At the end of Parabellum, we saw Winston, the owner of The Continental, shoot Wick while the Concierge stood by and watched. Winston did this in order to get back control of The Continental, which he would get only after killing Wick. This was a truce that Winston and The Adjudicator had come to after the latter had declared Winston’s Continental as deconsecrated ground.
However, John Wick somehow survives the betrayal and the bullets of Winston, as he fell off the roof of The Continental. A disheveled Wick ends up in front of the Bowery King, and together they plan to exact their revenge on Winston and The High Table. As the ending suggests, John Wick Chapter 4 will pick up from where we left, with Wick and the Bowery King ready to fight The High Table.
Cast and Release Date of John Wick 4
Keanu Reeves will be back in his role as John Wick. Laurence Fishburne will also be back in his role as The Bowery King. Jason Mantzoukas, who plays the role of the Tick Tock Man, an assassin for Bowery King, will also be back. Ian McShane will also be reprising his role as Winston. Lance Reddick, who plays the role of Charon, the Concierge at The Continental, will also be back. Asia Kate Dillon might also return to her role of The Adjudicator, as that character is deemed to play an important role in the story arc in John Wick 4.
Initially, John Wick 4 was slated to release on May 21, 2021, and would’ve clashed with The Matrix 4. But, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, filming was delayed and the film won’t be able to make its scheduled release date. John Wick 4 is now scheduled to release on May 27, 2022.
