Mad Max 5: Cast, Plot and more interesting details!

Tom Hardy’s portrayal of the character Max Rockatansky in Mad Max: Fury Road earned him a lot of praise. The film itself was also an absolute banger. George Miller’s insistence on minimal use of CGI to filming stunt sequences resulted in a spectacle at the big screen. Fury Road was widely acclaimed by both critics and audiences. The film collected $375 million at the worldwide box-office. It was also nominated for ten awards at the 88th Academy Awards, winning in six categories. These included Costume Design, Production Design, Makeup and Hairstyling, Film Editing, Sound Editing, and Sound Mixing. There are currently three more Mad Max films in development, but they have been delayed due to ongoing pay disputes between Warner Bros. and George Miller. The fifth Mad Max film is currently in development under the working title Mad Max: The Wasteland.

Mad Max 5 – What we know so far

Mel Gibson portrayed the character of Max Rockatansky in the first three Mad Max films, before Tom Hardy took the mantle. Hardy’s portrayal of Max in Fury Road was widely praised, and he did justice to the character, even if he had little to say in the film. He had signed on for three more sequels after Mad Max: Fury Road, so we will be seeing more of him in the fifth film.

However, we won’t be seeing Charlize Theron returning as Furiosa in Mad Max: The Wasteland. The film is supposedly set a year before the events of Fury Road before Max had met Furiosa. We will be seeing more of Furiosa in one of the other Mad Max films in development, which is a spin-off based on a younger version of the character.

Due to the ongoing dispute between Warner Bros. and George Miller, production of The Wasteland has been delayed. Miller has insisted that he will make more Mad Max films, despite there being reports stating otherwise.

“There are two stories, both involving Mad Max, and also a Furiosa story. We’re still solving, we’ve got to play out the Warners thing, it seems to be pretty clear that it’s going to happen.”

Whenever the dispute settles and production begins, we can expect the film to take at least a year to complete filming. As of now, no official release date has been set for Mad Max: The Wasteland.
