Created by Rachael New, Miss Scarlet and the Duke is a period crime television drama, made for Alibi. New is also the executive producer alongside Todd Berger, Patrick Irwin, Jin Ishimoto, Harvey Myman and Declan O’Dwyer.

The first season premiered in the US on January 17, 2021 and received generally positive reviews from critics. It currently holds an approval rating of 65% on Rotten Tomatoes and considering the positive response, the makers have already renewed the series for a second season.

Miss Scarlet and the Duke Plot and Cast

Although the makers have not revealed much about the plot of Miss Scarlet and the Duke Season 2, it is expected to continue from where the first season ended.

The basic premise follows the headstrong Miss Scarlet who sets off to be the first female private detective when she decides to take over her father’s business after he unexpectedly dies. To find cases and clients, she snoops in on the cases her childhood friend, William “The Duke” Wellington, a police detective, is working on.

Talking about the cast, the main cast members of Season 1 are expected to reprise their roles. This includes Kate Phillips, Stuart Martin, Danny Midwinter, Ansu Kabia, Andrew Gower, Matthew Malone, Cathy Belton, Kevin Doyle and Simon Ludders.

Miss Scarlet and the Duke Season 2 Release Date

The first season of Miss Scarlet and the Duke was released in January 2021 and it was renewed for a second season in March 2021. For now, we can expect the second season to premiere sometime in 2022.
