Mission impossible 7 is set to resume its shoot on September and the crew will travel worldwide again for the new instalment. After Jurassic Park: Dominion, Mission impossible 7 would be another big production to resume amidst this pandemic. Speaking to BBC 4’s Today program, assistant director Tomy Gormley said:-
“We hope to restart in September. We hope to visit all the countries we planned to. We hope to do a big chunk of it back in the U.K. on the backlot and in the studio. If we have the protocols in place and we break down all the procedures very carefully…we will get it going again. Some things are very challenging such as stunt scenes, crowd scenes etc. but we can’t do a ‘Mission Impossible’ movie and not have a fight scene or car scenes in it.”
The Tom Cruise tentpole halted is production in February while they were shooting in Venice, Italy.
After the huge commercial success of Mission impossible: Fallout, the franchise was quick to announce Mission impossible 7 and 8. So, the seventh instalment is not going to be the last instalment as some of us were speculating. The release date for Mission impossible 7 is July 23, 2o21 and for the eighth part is August 5, 2022. The seventh part was announced back in February and the production is at a very early stage.
There was a time when Mission impossible: Rogue Nation director Christopher McQuarrie said he would “rather have leprosy” than direct Mission impossible: 7, well, maybe the “leprosy” did not work out quite well as McQuarrie will again be writing and directing the seventh part and preferably the eighth part too. This decision by Paramount suits well as McQuarrie’s reign directing the MI movies and his bonding with Tom Cruise is amazing and really really profitable. He even directed Cruise in Jack Reacher.
Along with Cruise, Simon Pegg, Michelle Monaghan, Jeremy Renner, Ving Rhames might probably come back for their particular roles. Rebecca Ferguson will also reprise her role as Ilsa Faust and Hayley Atwell is set to join the cast as a newcomer. It was also rumoured that Henry Cavill and Bradley Cooper might join the cast this time.
As the movie resumes it’s shoot in September we are likely to see many more updates from the cast and crew section, in the meanwhile, please enjoy this pandemic!
