Netflix Brings Back Popular Black Sitcom ‘Moesha’! – Netflix is finally streaming Moesha. Moesha is an American television sitcom. It focuses on the life of an upper-middle-class African-American family. The show is completely focused through the eyes of a typical girl named Moesha. Her father Frank is a widow. He is Saturn car salesman and owner of his dealership Brothers Saturn. He marries Dee who is the vice-principal at Moesha’s high school. Despite Moesha’s disapproval, Frank marries Dee.

The sitcom is all set in the Leimert Park neighborhood of Los Angeles.

About Moesha TV Sitcom

Moesha aired on UPN from 23 January 1996 to 14 May 2001. The series stars the famous R&B singer Brandy Norwood as Moesha Denise Mitchell. Moesha is a high school student living with her family in the Leimert Park neighborhood of Los Angeles. The show was primarily ordered as a pilot for CBS’ 1995–1996 television season but the network rejected the sitcom. UPN picked it later and aired it as a mid-season replacement. It went on to become the biggest success for the nascent network and one of the greatest hits throughout the network’s entire run. The series was a joint production of Regan Jon Productions, Saradipity Productions, and Jump at the Sun Productions in association with Big Ticket Television for UPN.

“I am beyond humbled and honored at how much the fans continue to ride hard for [these shows] years later and how it’s made a huge impact on the culture,” the actors said. “These shows changed the face of television as we know it. And it helps for black creators both in front of and behind the camera. It has provided us with being able to be in the homes of people worldwide.”
