The 25th film of the James Bond franchise and 5th of Daniel Craig was due to release worldwide in April. But the fate of the world had conflicting plans. Usually, in ‘save the world’ movies, the heroes usually manage to save the world, by hook or by crook, from threats determined to cause major devastation, be it a nuclear crisis, a war or an epidemic. Since reality is stranger than fiction, no one could ‘save the world’ from COVID-19 before its widespread outbreak in the real world.

Anyways, Bond 25 still proved that popularity of world’s heroes from the movies could manage to do something worthwhile during a pandemic. The clapperboard used while filming No Time To Die had been auctioned digitally to raise funds for the National Health Service of Britain to aid in the combat against the virus. The clapboard has been autographed by film’s top cast Naomie Harris, Lea Seydoux, Lashana Lynch, and Ana De Armas, director Cary Joji Fukunaga and singer Billie Eilish, who has recorded the film’s theme song.

Director and writer Cary Joji Fukunaga gave some insight into how bad No Time To Die is going to be for James Bond. Bond’s friends, whom he considers family, are at risk by someone better and more lethal than Spectre. Coming back on the field from a 5-year-retirement, he is on the run throughout the film until the very end. He is to save his family besides saving the world this time, the intense action will have an unprecedented emotional touch. All the cliffhangers and mysteries from all the Bond movies of the Daniel Craig era will be revealed in Craig’s last movie as the British MI6 spy.

Fans dotingly await the delayed, direct sequel to previous Bond film, Spectre. The new release dates for No Time To Die are 12th November 2020 for UK and 25 November for United States. Let’s hope humanity wins the battle against the killer virus before Bond is back into business.
