Realme 3 launch date set for March 4, leaked images hint In-display FP

In the past couple of weeks, there have been plenty of rumours and leaks about the upcoming Realme 3 smartphone. Realme India CEO Madhav Sheth also took to Twitter to confirm a few things about the upcoming smartphone. Today, Sheth announced that the company would launch the Realme 3 on March 4, putting a rest to all the rumours and speculations surrounding the launch date. He further said that the company would make fans a part of the event.

This announcement comes days after the brand tweeted a picture of a phone with a vertical camera setup. Previously, all the Realme’s smartphones had horizontal rear cameras, but it could change with the new handset. Realme’s India head in his tweet revealed that the Realme 3 India launch event will be held at 12.30 PM. However, there is no detail regarding the venue yet. He will be selecting ten fans that can attend the launch event on March 4.

There are reports of Realme 3 with MediaTek Helio P70 and Helio P60 chipsets. But, Sheth confirmed that only the Helio P70 variant would make it to the Indian market. The company is reportedly working on another variant with model number RMX1821 to release in South Asian markets.

From another report, a couple of live images of the Realme 3 surfaced online. Though the pictures are blurry and don’t reveal much detail, it does show the rear of the handset. We can see the company logo placed vertically at the bottom. The rear seems to have a black and blue gradient finish, but the company earlier teased that it is bringing back the diamond cut finish.

In the image tweeted by the Realme executive, we can see the device sports a starry night with a black and black gradient. The phone may come with a diamond cut back design with starry gradient finish. But, these images only show a starry back with no sign of a diamond cut design.

One noticeable detail is that there is no visible rear fingerprint sensor. It means the Realme 3 may feature an on-screen fingerprint sensor. We already saw the mid-range OPPO K1 to highlight one, so it is possible that Realme will use the technology considering OPPO has still its influence on the company despite it being a separate entity now. Again, we are just speculating, and it will be better to wait till the launch to learn more. Till then, keep tuned.
