“I want to thank HBO Max and Warner Brothers for this brave gesture of supporting artists and allowing their true visions to be realized. Also a special thank you to all of those involved in the “Snyder Cut” movement for making this a reality,” said Zack Snyder in his statement, which sounded like an Oscar win.
#ReleasetheSnyderCut was long trending on Twitter and Instagram, and finally, the movement met its cause. The “Snyder Cut” will now release on the new streaming giant HBO Max and the fans are as excited as people from ancient Greek who cheered on streets upon The Great Caesar’s return.
The movement has been spreading since the release of the new “Justice League” disappointed the fans and they couldn’t find a reason. It was then leaked that Zack Snyder worked on the original version for almost 2 years and the principal photography was almost complete, but the franchise brought in Joss Whedon and the script was almost transformed almost 80%. After this news spread, fans started protesting and asked the franchise to release the “Snyder’s Cut”, many celebrities also came out for the cause and now the whole campaign seems fruitful.
“Since I got here 14 months ago, the chant to #ReleaseTheSnyderCut has been a daily drumbeat in our offices and inboxes. Well, the fans have asked, and we are thrilled to finally deliver. At the end of the day, it really is all about them and we are beyond excited to be able to release Zack’s ultimate vision for this film in 2021. This could never have happened if it weren’t for the hard work and combined efforts of the teams at HBO Max and Warner Bros. Pictures,” said Robert Greenblatt, Chairman, Warner Media Entertainment and Direct-To-Consumer.
Although the date of the release is not yet confirmed, we know that the four hours “Snyder’s Cut” will be in parts and almost 20-30 million dollars can be spent in the post-production.
HBO Max is sure to get wide and by wide, we expect enormous viewership as the movement was firing up for quite a few months and has gained a lot of publicity among DC fans and the general public alike.
“When Zack and Debbie shared the extraordinary vision of where Zack wanted to take Justice League, my team and our counterparts at Warner Bros. took it as a mission to solve the many issues that stood in the way, Thanks to the partnership at Warner Bros. and the relentless pursuit of the entire WarnerMax team we are able to deliver this incredibly exciting moment for Zack, the fans and HBO Max,” said Kevin Reilly, Chief Content Officer at HBO Max, President, TNT, TBS, and truTV.
We do not know the plot of the new “cut” neither do we know of any trailers or sneak peeks, but it seems like a positive step forward and a great shift towards the autonomous liberty of the director over the financers and the producers of the film as an art form.
