Based on the Marvel Comics characters, created by Malcolm Spellman set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), and takes place after the film Avengers: Endgame (2019), “The Falcon And The Winter Soldier” is an American television miniseries following Falcon and the Winter Soldier, a mismatched duo who team up for a global adventure that will test their survival skills – as well as their patience that debuted on Friday, March 19, 2021, on Disney+.
Starring Sebastian Stan and Anthony Mackie, Wyatt Russell, Erin Kellyman, Danny Ramirez, Georges St-Pierre, Adepero Oduye, Don Cheadle, Daniel Brühl, Emily VanCamp, and Florence Kasumba.
Sam Wilson, AKA the Falcon, took on the Captain America mantle — and the character’s iconic shield — at the end of “Avengers: Endgame.” He’ll team up with Bucky Barnes/The Winter Soldier for a globetrotting adventure, but specific details about the series’ plot are still under wraps. The two heroes were occasionally enemies in older Marvel comic books but have been on good terms in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Bucky Barnes/The Winter Soldier survived a world war, spent decades as an unwilling HYDRA assassin, and was killed and subsequently resurrected in the last two “Avengers” films. Now, the hero is finally entering the spotlight as Falcon’s partner in the upcoming Disney+ series. It seems that Bucky will be confronting adversaries both old and new, as a scene in the series’ Super Bowl spot shows the Winter Soldier pointing a gun at Helmut Zemo, the villain who manipulated Bucky in “Captain America: Civil War.”
