Netflix’s The Witcher season 2 was delayed after the COVID-19 struck the UK. However, with the country now softening restrictions, studios are opening their doors, like Arborfield Studios, where The Witcher is shooting.
The Witcher Set to Resume its work
Plans to reopen the studio began earlier this month. Henry Cavill tinkered with his imminent return to action with a selfie gym.
Netflix revealed that on August 17 the main shooting on The Witcher Season 2 would formally resume in the UK.
The Twitter page for the hit show announced that the shooting would resume in just under two months with a neat little drain, written in the poetic style of Jaskier’s favorite bard.
However, some producers have recently been approved to take their first steps back into operation after a new mandate for safety procedures has been accepted in the United Kingdom.
The Witcher has been a massive hit for Netflix, with 76 million people viewing the action-packed fictional dramas the first season. Yet many viewers were left puzzled by the multi-timeline “controversial” nature of the series.
While showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich has held by this as a storytelling tool. She has vowed a more structured second season. Now that the individual storylines of the characters have intersected to occur on the “same timeframe.”
Hissrich defended this strategy, as it allowed the authors to develop each character independently. Season 2 will also introduce new witches to the show, which will help to explore more of Geralt ‘s background. The season will also be exploring the history of the Nilfgaardians, Cahir, and Fringilla.

The Witcher Season 2 is set to be released in 2021 at some point. However, no precise date has been confirmed as of yet. The Witcher is shooting at Arborfield Studios, roughly 40 miles west of London. Henry Cavill stars in a fantasy thriller based on a series of novels recently adapted to the universe of a hit video game.
