You heard it right, The Witcher (Season 2) is arriving soon! After an explosive first season that introduced the beloved book character Geralt to fans and casual watchers around the globe, the Witcher is finally back for a second run. The story will pick up where it left off, exploring the fated link between Geralt and Princess Ciri. The show is based on the book series of the same name by Andrzej Sapkowski. It was adapted by Netflix in 2017 as a drama series. Also, it was announced that the show has already been renewed for the third season. Therefore fans can expect a lot more to come in the future.
The Witcher (Season 2): Plot and Cast
The new season will of course feature our rough and tough hero with the enigmatic princess and his charming sidekick, the bard. Netflix’s official synopsis for season two is as follows:
“Convinced Yennefer’s life was lost at the Battle of Sodden, Geralt of Rivia brings Princess Cirilla to the safest place he knows, his childhood home of Kaer Morhen. While the Continent’s kings, elves, humans, and demons strive for supremacy outside its walls, he must protect the girl from something far more dangerous: the mysterious power she possesses inside.”
Thus, we can anticipate the second season to be full of action and thrill. There will also no doubt be plenty of flashbacks. The show’s non-linear format of storytelling will also perhaps be used again. Hence, season 2 will most surely be a fun watch.
Henry Cavill is confirmed to be returning as Geralt of Rivia. Freya Allen will also reprise her role as Ciri. Anaya Chalotra and Joey Batey will also return as Yennefer and Jaskier respectively. Cassie Clare and Kevin Doyle are among the new actors who will join the cast.
