The sequel to “Thor: Ragnarok” has already started its production and the fans are excited about it. “Thor: Love and Thunder” will be the fifth film in MCU phase 4.
Taika Waititi is all set to direct the new instalment, and he will also write the script. Waititi received much acclaim for “Ragnarok” and also for his latest “Jojo Rabbit” which created huge waves at the Oscars. Along with Waititi, Jennifer Kaityn Robinson will help with the script.
“It’s going to be bigger and louder and more bombastic, It’s only interesting to me if we’re doubling down on how nuts ‘Ragnarok’ was.” said Waititi in an interview with “Wired”.
Similarly, Hemsworth said that the script is “one of the best scripts I’ve read in years. It’s Taika at his most extreme, and at his best, If the version I read is the one we get running with, it’s going to be pretty insane.”
It was expected that the filming would start in March or August 2020, but due to the ongoing pandemic and the shutdown, it is hard to speculate as to when the production might start, due to this the release date of the film has been delayed. The film will now release on February 11, 2022.
According to Waititi, Tessa Thompson is all set to come back as “Valkyrie”. Tessa revealed that her character in the movie will be bisexually oriented as it is in the original comic.
“First of all, as [the] new king, she needs to find her queen, That will be her first order of business. She has some ideas. Keep you posted.” Thompson teased about her character at the San-Diego Comic-Con.
“With the actors, I feel whatever makes them comfortable — whether they feel like there’s a natural choice or a natural way for that character to go — then I’m pretty supportive, If Tessa wanted to do that, I’m in.” said Waititi about Tessa’s choice in an interview with “Variety”.
Along with Tessa, Natalie Portman will also reprise her role as Jane Foster (the female Thor). The comic has an additional storyline where Jane has breast cancer and she fights with it throughout her role. This is what Waititi had to say about Foster’s cancer plot:
“I think that’s a really powerful part of the books, I think it’s really cool that she’s fighting this thing and there are two battles going on. Personally I really love that storyline, but whether it ends up in the film is yet to be seen.” Also, Read
