Developed by Stoic, Towerborne is an upcoming side-scrolling action-adventure game which is published by Xbox Game Studios. It was developed using Unreal Engine, and the game’s art style was inspired by animated feature films.
At first, the game was designed to be a 2D game like The Banner Saga series, though this was later expanded to include more axes of movement. This brand-new game is set in a post-apocalyptic world, the tower of Belfry was described by the team as “a beacon of hope and safety amongst the ruins of humanity and the City of Numbers”.

Towerborne Gameplay
The main story of Towerborne focuses on a fantasy land where various monsters have been ruling for a long time. Human beings cannot survive easily on this place and the only thing that remains so far are the walls put between the City of Numbers along with a spot known as The Belfry. However, things might change becaose of the Aces.
Aces are known as a group of gifted warriors with magical powers that can help them to survive despite dying in different conditions. This can also help to keep the memories safe along with their abilities. Aces have to simply go out into the world and destroy monsters that have been willing to entirely take down The Belfry.
The players have to simply walk through the locl places and defeat the enemies that come in front of them. The combat system is similar to other games such as Golden Axe and players can also team up with their friends in multiplayer mode.

Towerborne Release Date
In October 2021, Codenamed Project Belfry, the game was first leaked which was officially announced on June 11, 2023, during the Xbox Games Showcase. This game was envisioned by Stoic as a live service game, with the studio planning to introduce new content to the game following its official launch.
The developers have confirmed that Towerborne will be released sometime in 2024, however, an official release date is yet to be disclosed. The game will be released for the platforms like Windows PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
