Unicorn Overlord’s development started around nine years ago in 2014. Vanillaware later got involved in the project and they were already working in a few other video games. A short movie related to the game was released a long time ago and it was confirmed in January 2023 that the project is about to end development. The developers have confirmed that the game will be released on March 8, 2023.

Developers have kept a lot of details secret for now. Talking about the gameplay for Unicorn Overlord, gamers would get to explore a huge world and they need to form allies and relationships to progress further in the game.
Gamers have to form a huge army of 60 people and they would include human beings along with elves. Beasts and heavenly angels would also be included in the army. The main intention will be to free Fevrith from the rule of Zenorain Empire.
Gamers need to reclaim the towers and rebuild them with the things that have been collected throughout the game. The allies need to be trained properly so that they can fight against the enemies without falling down soon. Players can use any characters for themselves.
The story follows a fallen prince who falls and rises. It is set in the continent of Fevrith where humans and elves reside together. Things take a worse turn when General Valmore starts a war and the main protagonist Alain, the prince of Cornia, runs away from his home, aiming to lead the Liberation Army that would contribute in the freedom of Fevrith.
