Developed by Ubisoft San Francisco and published by Ubisoft, XDefiant is a free-to-play first-person shooter video game that is formerly known as Tom Clancy’s XDefiant. The game is set to be released on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. On PC, it will be released exclusively on Ubisoft Connect.
During the Ubisoft Connect in June 2023, an open session was announced and it began on June 20, 2023, for closed beta test participants. It ended by June 23 and a Public Test Session was confirmed for PC from September 28 to September 29, 2023. Ubisoft planned to release the game sometime in early or mid-October and the Year 1 Roadmap had four seasons with 12 weapons, maps, and balance alongside a few character updates.

XDefiant Gameplay
The game has a lot of factions and classes and all of them have their special powers and weapons. The game is set in the future and the main premise is based in the United States where players would get engaged in multiplayer matches in different maps and game modes. The game is set around factions called Defiant, Wilves, Ecgelon, and the Outcasts and Cleaners. There are other factions at the same time and defiants can be updated with different abilities, devices, weapons, and more.
XDefiant Release Date
In July 2021, the game was officially announced by Ubisoft, and in the same year, a closed Insider test of a pre-alpha version of XDefiant occurred in North America. The second Insider test was held in February 2023. Following a public test session that “surfaced some inconsistencies in the game experience”, director Mark Rubin announced that XDefiant’s release was delayed indefinitely.
