Xiaomi is no stranger when it comes to Android One smartphones. The Chinese manufacturer launched the Mi A2 last year which was a rebranded Mi 6X. Its predecessor Mi A1 was launched back in 2017 as a rebranded Mi 5X. Now, a leak of the Mi 9X has surfaced online which could be the Mi A3. Note that Xiaomi is yet to announce a Mi A2 successor, but some recent reports hinted that the company is developing a couple of Android One phones.
Xiaomi Mi 9X/ Mi A3 Specifications (Leaked)
The leak originated from China’s media platform Weibo giving a detailed spec list for the Mi 9X. According to the spec list, the Mi 9X could feature a 6.4 inch AMOLED display with 1080p resolution and 19:9 aspect ratio. It is expected to have a ‘dot notch’ along with an in-display fingerprint sensor. In terms of looks, it is likely to come with a gradient finish with 2.5D protection.
The phone will house an 11nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 that also powers the Redmi Note 7 Pro. It will have 6GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 64GB eMMC 5.1 storage. Furthermore, the handset runs MIUI 10 based on Android 9 Pie and will have a 3,300 mAh battery with 18W Quick Charge 4+ support.
In the optics department, the device sports a 32MP Samsung (GD1) selfie shooter. At the rear, it has a triple camera setup of a 48MP (Sony IMX586) sensor, 8MP secondary sensor and a 13MP third super wide angle lens. If this turns out to be true, it will be the first mid-range Xiaomi smartphone with a triple camera setup.
Xiaomi Mi A3/ Mi 9X: Price and Availability (Expected)
The tipster claims Xiaomi will release the handset in April with a price tag of 1,699 Yuan (Rs 17,400 approx). It is not mentioned whether the smartphone will make it to markets outside China, but it will likely be launched as Xiaomi Mi A3 in global markets including India.
