9-1-1: Lone Star is a spin-off of the television series 9-1-1. The show follows the story of the first respondents of the company 126, located in the city of Austin, Texas. The show’s name “Lone Star”, comes from the name of the state of Texas, the “Lone Star State”. The show premiered on Fox in January 2020. 9-1-1: Lone Star was developed for Fox by Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk, and Tim Minear. They are also the co-creators of the original 9-1-1 television series.

9-1-1: Lone Star stars Rob Lowe as firefighter captain Owen Strand. Ronen Rubinstein plays the role of Owen’s son, Tyler Kennedy “TK” Strand. He is also a firefighter like his father and a paramedic as well. TK is a recovering opioid addict. Liv Tyler stars as Michelle Blake, the captain of the paramedic Emergency Medical Services (EMS). Jim Parrack plays the role of firefighter Judson “Judd” Ryder, and Sierra McClain plays the role of Judd’s wife and 9-1-1 operator Grace Ryder. Other cast members of 9-1-1: Lone Star include Natacha Karam as firefighter/paramedic Marjan Marwani, Brian Michael Smith as firefighter Paul Strickland, Rafael Silva as Carlos Reyes, a police officer of the Austin Police Department, and Julian Works as Mateo Chavez.

9-1-1: Lone Star Season 2 – What we know so far

The pilot episode of 9-1-1: Lone Star had a viewership count of 11.41 million viewers across the USA. The show has maintained a good rating and viewership across the entire 10-episode season. The show aired from January 19, 2020, to March 9, 2020, with each episode having an approximate runtime of 50 minutes.

In April 2020, Fox renewed 9-1-1: Lone Star for a second season. The show has been added to Fox’s 2020-21 slate. Production on the second season of Lone Star was expected to begin in the fall of 2020, but might get delayed due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. It is expected to air sometime in mid 2021, if there are no further delays in production. 9-1-1: Lone Star has also added Suits star Gina Torres as a series regular for season 2.
