on

Duncanville is an adult animated sitcom on Fox. The show is co-created by Amy Poehler, Mike Scully and Julie Scully. They also serve as executive producers on the show, along with Dave Becky. Duncanville is part of Fox’s Animation Domination on Sundays; a list which also has other animated sitcoms such as The Simpsons, Bless the Harts, Family Guy and Bob’s Burgers.

Duncanville was ordered in October 2018 for a 13 episode first season. This number was later brought down to 11 episodes. Duncanville premiered on Fox on February 16, 2020. The premise of the show is this-

“Duncanville centers on the life of Duncan Harris, an average 15-year-old boy, who is always one step away from making a bad decision. Along with Duncan lives his mom, a parking enforcement officer, who dreams of being a detective someday and always has to watch Duncan; his dad, who tries to be a better father figure to Duncan than his father was to him; his sister Kimberly, who is a normal teenager going through normal teen-phases; and his other adopted Asian sister Jing, who is an intelligent 5-year-old who is always giving Duncan advice.”

Cast of Duncanville Season 2

Amy Poehler is the voice behind Duncan, and his mother Annie. Ty Burrell is the voice of Duncan’s father, Jack. Riki Lindhome voices the character of Duncan’s sister, Kimberly. Zach Cherry is the voice behind Duncan’s friend Wolf, and Yassir Lester voices the character of Yangzi, Duncan’s other friend. Betsy Sodaro is the voice behind Bex, Duncan’s tomboy friend.

Rashida Jones, who voices the recurring character of Duncan’s friend and secret crush Mia Abara in season 1, will be a regular in season 2. Joy Osmanski as Jing, Duncan, and Kimberly’s adopted Asian littler sister will also be a regular on season 2. Wiz Khalifa as the voice of Mr. Mitch will also be a series regular in season 2.

Release Date of Duncanville Season 2

Duncanville was renewed for season 2 in April 2020, midway through the first season. Even though the show had low Live+Same day ratings, it made up for them in streaming numbers, averaging at 2.3 million multiplatform viewers. Season 2 of Duncanville is slated to premiere on Fox in the 2021-22 season.
