What is this about?
The show is a contemporary anthology series that delivers topical stories. Each episode is distinct, addressing a universal theme via the eyes of a particular character.
The first episode, for example, is titled “Social Justice Sex Tape” and stars Ben Platt (Dear Evan Hansen) as a man who can use a sex tape to help an innocent man escape from prison.
Tracee Ellis Ross from Black-ish, Ayo Edebiri from Dickinson, and Jermaine Fowler from Coming 2 America all appear in the episode.
Meanwhile, “Moment of Silence,” the second episode, stars Jon Bernthal of The Punisher, Boyd Holbrook of Logan, Beau Bridges of Homeland, and Amy Landecker of Transparent in a story about a man who becomes the National Gun Lobby’s PR director after his daughter is slain by gun violence.
Lucas Hedges of Ladybird returns to his high school to give to the construction of a new library but instead reveals that as a prize, he would have sex with the school’s valedictorian.
“The Commenter,” the fourth episode, tells the story of what occurs when a young couple seeks praise from an internet troll. Lola Kirke and Soko, the stars of Gone Girl, appear in this episode.
