Dan Brown’s The Lost Symbol: Release Date, Updates and More!

Published

Hello Readers! We’ve seen Tom Hanks play Robert Langdon, Dan Brown’s famed symbologist, on the big screen before in films like The Da Vinci Code, Angels & Demons, and Inferno, but now he’s coming to the small screen in Dan Brown’s The Lost Symbol.

The show is an original series from Peacock, the NBCUniversal-owned streaming service, based on Brown’s book of the same name. Peacock has had some success with its original shows, such as Girls5eva and Rutherford Falls, as well as its Olympic streaming during the recent Tokyo Games.

Dan Brown’s The Lost Symbol: Release Date

The launch date of the series was set for September 16, 2021. It’s on its way to Peacock, NBCUniversal’s streaming service named after the NBC emblem. That means you’ll need to pay for a membership to get access to it.

What is this about?

While the plots for the book and the TV series are essentially the same, there is one major difference: rather than taking place after the events of The Da Vinci Code, the Peacock series will center on a young Robert Langdon, easily filling the Tom Hanks-sized hole that the series has.

Following the kidnapping of his mentor Peter Solomon, Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon finds himself drawn into a series of deadly puzzles by the CIA. As he solves each new mystery, it becomes evident that at the heart of it all lies a terrifying worldwide conspiracy.

Who’s in it?

For the first time, someone other than Tom Hanks will play Robert Langdon, and Ashley Zukerman will take on the role. Succession, the Fear Street trilogy, A Teacher, and Designated Survivor are among Zukerman’s earlier credits.

Valorie Curry as Katherine Solomon, Rick Gonzalez as Nunez, Beau Knapp as Mal’akh, Sumalee Montano as Inoue Sato, and Eddie Izzard as Langdon’s lost instructor Peter Solomon star alongside Zukerman in The Lost Symbol.

Laura de Carteret, Keenan Jolliff, Patrick Ronan, Sammi Rotibi, Gia Sandhu, and Simon Webster round out the cast.
