Cars on the Road: Release Date, Plot and more!

Written by Steve Purcell, Cars on the Road is an upcoming American computer-animated streaming service based on Cars films. The show is produced by Marc Sondheimer and Pete Docter as executive producer of the show.

On June 2, 2021, it was reported that characters from the Cars spin-off films Planes and Planes: Fire and Rescue will appear in the series. On November 12, 2021, it was announced that the series would be titled Cars on the Road.

Cars on the Road Plot and Cast

The series follows Lightning McQueen and his best friend Mater on a cross-country road trip around the United States. It is set in a world filled with anthropomorphic talking cars and other vehicles.

The episodes will depict characters in different scenarios, for example, them being chased by dinosaur-like cars. It will be set in the new locations with new characters, additionally featuring returns of the already established characters from the franchise.

On November 12, 2021, it was announced that Owen Wilson and Larry the Cable Guy would reprise their respective roles as Lightning McQueen and Mater.

Cars on the Road Release Date

The series is scheduled to premiere in 2022. However, the makers of the show have not fixed the release date of Cars on the Road yet. We hope that Jitney announce the release date soon as the filming part of the series is done.

The number of episodes and the runtime for each has not been revealed yet. Everything would be disclosed only after the show premieres on Disney+, which is accessible for $7.99 to $13.99 per month/year.
