Firefly Lane Season 2: Release Date, Trailer, and more!

Firefly Lane is an American drama streaming television series that premiered on Netflix on February 3, 2021. Created by Maggie Friedman, the series is based on the novel of the same name by Kristin Hannah and navigates the lives of two teenage girls in the 1970s, all the way through to adulthood in the early-2000s.

Friedman is also the executive producer alongside Peter O’Fallon, Stephanie Germain, Katherine Heigl, Shawn Williamson, and Lee Rose. In May 2021, the series was renewed for a second season which is slated to be released in 2022.

Firefly Lane Plot and Cast

At the end of season 1, Tully quits her show and she promises Kate that she will get a job when she gets hired again while enjoying a relaxing moment by a firepit. Then after further scenes, they both were seen having an emotional moment at a funeral where Kate said to Tully that she never wanted to see her again.

So, fans can highly expect that season 2 will explain what made Kate say such a harsh thing to her best friend, Tully and what will further happen between them. Moreover, the funeral shown in season 1 remained unclear; however, Tully arrived to pay her respect so that you can expect it from someone close to kate. So, you can expect Kate’s Father or ex-husband, Johnny who left Iraq.

From here, another angle that you can expect is how the person’s death changes the life of Kate and her daughter. Season 2 might show what happens with Tully’s career and whether she offers the job to Kate or not.

Now talking about the cast, it includes Katherine Heigl as Tully Hart, Sarah Chalke as Kate Mularkey, Ali Skovbye as Young Tully, Roan Curtin as Young Kate, Ben Lawson as Johnny Ryan, Beau Garrett as Cloud, and Yael Yurman as Marah, Kate’s teenage daughter.

At the end of September 2021, Netflix announced the addition of some new actors joining the journey of Season 2, including Ignacio Serricchio as Danny Diaz, India de Beaufort as Charlotte, Jolene Purdy as Justine Jordan, and Greg Germann as Benedict Binswanger.

Firefly Lane Season 2 Release Date

It took a few months but Netflix officially announced that Firefly Lane is returning for a second season on May 27th, 2021. But the release date has not been confirmed yet.

According to Netflix Life, filming on Firefly Lane concluded at the end of April 2022. Due to the lack of substantial CGI, the post-production process should be quick. Keeping that in mind we can expect it in late 2022 or 2023.
