Created by Nick Antosca, the American drama follows the deeds of Robert Berchtold, a family friend of the Brobergs who was involved in the multiple kidnappings and abuse of Jan Broberg over the years, till the time he was caught. The plot of the miniseries highlights how an individual close to a family can take advantage of their vulnerabilities using sophisticated tactics and the foundation of trust and friendship to put family members up against each other psychologically, to turn their own daughter against her own family. A Friend Of The Family releases on October 6, 2022, Thursday on Peacock. The nine-episode miniseries will launch the first three parts on the day of the release, followed by one new episode rolling out on a weekly basis.
