The historical drama television series, The Crown is about the reign of Queen Elizabeth II, which is created by Peter Morgan. Morgan is also the executive producer of the show along with Matthew Byam Shaw, Stephen Daldry, Philip Martin, Tanya Seghatchian, Suzanne Mackie, Andy Harries, Robert Fox, Benjamin Caron, Nina Wolarsky, and Allie Goss.

On November 1, 2016, the first two episodes of the series were released in the United Kingdom, and the first season was released worldwide on November 4, 2016. The series all total has 5 seasons and 50 episodes.

The Crown Season 6 Plot

It has been confirmed for now that the series will be back with the sixth season but it remains unknown what would happen in the upcoming season. Since the fifth season has not premiered yet, we cannot predict anything about what would happen in Season 6. However, it will continue from where the fifth season would end.

The basic premise focuses on the life of Queen Elizabeth II from her wedding in 1947 to Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, until the early 21st century. The previous season was set during Margaret Thatcher’s period as prime minister from 1979 to 1990 and focused on Lady Diana Spencer.

The Crown Season 6 Release Date And Cast

In July 2020, the makers renewed The Crown for a sixth season but are yet to confirm the release date of it. Since Season 5 of the series was released recently, it is very soon to ask for a Season 6. The new season might also have 10 episodes as the previous seasons of the series have but an official announcement is yet to confirm it. We expect that Season 6 will premiere in 2024.

Coming to the cast, we cannot say anything as Season 5 has not premiered yet. Still, we can expect to see Imelda Staunton, Dominic West, Elizabeth Debicki, Olivia Colman, Lesley Manville, Claire Foy, and others in the lead roles.
