The action RPG Assassin’s Creed Valhalla team has come with a new rap battle. The traditions of Viking rap battles have encouraged the developer to have the battle under the name, ‘Flyting’. So, the Vikings follow a culture where two people insult each other rhythmically.
The developer Ashraf Alsmail brought this idea to the game where the protagonist Eivor and his enemies play this rap battle. This tradition also has a myth record, a real historic event in the Icelandic chronic. In this, maybe imagine the Gods Odin and Thor flying the battle or Loki playing with any other God. ‘Any other God’ for Loki is appropriate since he is one of the disliked characters in the game.
The competition happens when the players sit around a table mostly in a mead hall and start rhythmically insulting one another. In the video game, you will be given a few options to insult back your opponent. Here, not only the correct insult but a tune that best fits the flow of the rap should be chosen.
This is a good initiate, I did say. Every developer will always intend to introduce something unique in their games. So, battles like these fascinate many and attract players as well. So, its high time you build your skills in poetry and rhythms.
This series under the banner ‘Holiday 2020’ is likely to get released by this year. This series will include the 9th century England, especially Viking’s Invasions and relics of Scandinavian power. But, looking into the gameplay, it’s the same RPG with Eivor being the hero as seen in the previous 2 releases.
All set with your poetic intelligence, rhymes, and chimes to battle?
