Dave Season 3: Release Date, Plot and more!

Created by David Burd and Jeff Schaffer, Dave is a comedy television series and it was co-created by rapper and comedian Lil Dicky, who also plays the titular character. Dicky and Schaffer are also the executive producers alongside Saladin K. Patterson, Greg Mottola, Kevin Hart, Marty Bowen, Scooter Braun, Mike Hertz, Scott Manson and James Shin.

The first season of the show premiered on March 4, 2020 and it was renewed for a second season, which released on June 16, 2021. It has received generally positive reviews and currently holds an approval rating of 76% on Rotten Tomatoes. The series has been already renewed for a third season.

Dave Plot and Cast

In the finale of Dave Season 2, Dave established two things. Firstly, his ex-girlfriend Ally has moved on with another guy and secondly, Dave seems to be in a better place mentally where he is content that his album was not the biggest hit in the world. He is on tour with his friends and that is good enough for now.

The third season might explore the ramifications of both these developments. Dave has tried to remain friends with Ally in Season 2 after breaking up with her. Now she has moved on and it remains to be seen how Dave will react. Considering his career, Dave has a lot of plotting to do and he has taken interest in launching GaTa’s rap career. He can turn out to be a bigger deal than Dave and that can cause some frustrations on his part.

Coming to the cast, we should get to see Dave “Lil Dicky” Burd, Taylor Misiak, Davionte “GaTa” Ganter, Andrew Santino, Travis “Taco” Bennett and Christine Ko in the lead roles. There is a possibility that Gina Hecht, David Paymer and Benny Blanco might return to reprise their roles.

Dave Season 3 Release Date

Although the second season premiered in June 2021, FXX renewed the series for a third season recently on February 2022. So, we can expect the third season to release towards the end of 2022 or the first half of 2023.

The upcoming season is expected to have ten episodes like the first two seasons. However, the makers are yet to give an official confirmation on the same.
