Created by Chris Brancato and Paul Eckstein, Godfather of Harlem is a crime drama series made for Epix. Brancato and Eckstein are also the executive producers alongside Forest Whitaker, Nina Yang Bongiovi, James Acheson, John Ridley and Markuann Smith.

The first season of the series premiered on September 29, 2019 followed by the second season on April 18, 2021. It received positive reviews from critics and audiences, and currently holds an approval rating of 92% on Rotten Tomatoes. The makers renewed the series for a third season in January 2022.

Godfather of Harlem Plot and Cast

In Godfather of Harlem Season 2, Bumpy tried to gain control of the French connection. He lost one of his men in the ninth episode but also allied to maintain his status. When Omar proposes to Elise, he is shocked to hear all this while she had feelings for Malcolm and had to back out of the offer.

With Harlem riot ravaging the whole city, it is obvious that it will affect the huge order. In the upcoming season, Bumpy will be reminded that all his wealth is from manipulating people, and the season might make him understand that he is doing more harm than good and has to start on his road to redemption. The third season might delve into Malcolm’s personality.

Coming to the cast, the leads of the first two seasons are expected to reprise their roles. This includes Forest Whitaker, Nigel Thatch, Ilfenesh Hadera, Antoinette Crowe-Legacy, Lucy Fry, Erik LaRay Harvey, Elvis Nolasco, Vincent D’Onofrio, Paul Sorvino, Chazz Palminteri and Giancarlo Esposito.

Godfather of Harlem Season 3 Release Date

The second season of Godfather of Harlem premiered on April 2021 and it was renewed for a third season in January 2022. Considering that, the third season should release by the end of 2022 or in 2023.

The new season is expected to have ten episodes like the first two seasons, although an official confirmation is awaited. The series is distributed by Disney-ABC Domestic Television.
