It’s been a long time since we saw Henry Cavill as Superman on screen, nearly three years. But recent reports said that he is coming back. Twitter went crazy with questions when this news came out!
Will Henry Cavill Resume His Role As Superman In Man Of Steel 2?
Cavill will resume his role as Superman but not in Man Of Steel 2. A reporter, Justin Kroll from Variety said that he will resume his role with someone he has a bond with. His exact tweet was: “Cavill’s return is only a cameo and would likely have him appearing in a film where he has previous ties with the title character(AQUAMAN, SHAZAM). Sources say not for BLACK ADAM or WW. New MAN OF STEEL film still way off with no certainty Henry would return to star.” So this means that Cavill will return but only as a cameo.
It makes sense that he will not make his cameo in Wonder Woman because of the timeline. We wanted to see Superman in Black Adam because of the fights between him and The Rock’s character. But it does make sense that Cavill could make a cameo in Shazam! 2 or Aquaman 2 because of his connections with Clark Kent and Arthur Curry.
‘The Cape Is Still In His Closet’!
In 2018, rumors were going around that Cavill has quit from the DCEU. One source said, “Superman is like James Bond, and after a certain run you have to look at new actors.” WarnerBros sent out a statement in response saying, “We have a great relationship and great respect for Henry Cavill that continues to remain unchanged. Additionally, we have made no current decisions regarding any upcoming Superman films.” Cavill’s manager, Dany Garcia also took to Twitter and said, “the cape is still in his closet.”
