Created by Peter McKenna and Ciaran Donnelly, Kin is an Irish television crime drama series. McKenna is an executive producer of the show along with Ciaran Donnelly, David Davoli, Samantha Thomas, Steven Thibault, and Aaron L. Gilbert.

The show was first broadcast on September 9, 2021, on RTÉ. In February 2022, the series premiered in the United States and Canada on AMC+. A second season of the series was announced on February 10, 2022.

So, when the second season is coming? What is the synopsis? Who would come back to reprise their roles? Keep reading to know further details.

Kin Plot and Cast

Coming to the storyline, When a member of the Kinsella clan is killed, the family embarks on a gangland war with Cunningham’s international cartel, a war that is impossible to win. Out-numbered, out-financed, and out-gunned – the Kinsellas find themselves holed up in their Dublin stronghold while their businesses fail and family members and associates are picked off.

The season one finale saw Eamons long reign of terror ending with a gunshot. Season two will pick up from here and focus on the lives of the Pinellas, which are now more tangled than before. The family has to now deal with the aftermath of Eamons’ death. One thing is sure, though, the lies and deceptions of season one will come to haunt them.

Coming to the cast, the leads of Season 1 are expected to reprise their roles. This includes Charlie Cox, Clare Dunne, Aidan Gillen, Emmett J. Scanlan, Maria Doyle Kennedy, Sam Keeley, and Ciaran Hinds.

Kin Season 2 Release Date

As of now, the release date for season two is yet to be announced. A conservative guess would approximate that it will take another year before the show is on screens.

The upcoming season might consist of eight episodes like the previous season, although it is yet to be confirmed. Further details are expected to be revealed soon.
