At the end of season three, the Pogues found a captain’s log that once belonged to Blackbeard, a famous pirate. John B agrees to investigate the clue, which suggests that season four will see the group embark on yet another drama-filled quest for Blackbeard’s treasure.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Daviss said that the new season will clear everything on why the gold is so necessary and the reasons behind Big John’s missing.
