The first season premiered on April 22, 2021, and received decent feedback from critics and audiences. It currently holds an approval rating of 94% on Rotten Tomatoes and a score of 66 out of 100 on Metacritic. The show has been renewed for a second season, scheduled to premiere soon on Peacock.

Rutherford Falls Plot and Cast

The first season of Rutherford Falls ended with a twist. Although the first season focused on Rutherford working to save his family statue from being moved, it turns out that he is not related to the founder of Rutherford Falls.

This opens several questions for the upcoming season including what this might mean for Rutherford and his friendship with Wells. It will be interesting to see how the show would address real-world problems like colonialism and progressivism.

Speaking to Deadline, the President of Universal Television Erin Underhill expressed her excitement for the second season and said that most of the Rutherford Fallians are coming back in the new season. Further details about the plot are expected to be announced soon.

Coming to the cast, we should get to see Ed Helms, Michael Greyeyes, Jana Schmieding, Jesse Leigh and Dustin Milligan in the lead roles.

Rutherford Falls Season 2 Release Date

The makers of Rutherford Falls have not yet revealed a release date for the second season. However, since the series was renewed for another season in July 2021, the new season is expected to premiere sometime in 2022.
