Created by American author Leigh Bardugo, Shadow and Bone premiered on April 23, 2021. The series was renewed for a second season, also consisting of eight episodes.

Shadow and Bone Plot and Cast
Shadow and Bone is based on the story of young Alina Starkov, an orphan and cartographer of the Ravka nation’s First Army, as she discovers she is a Grisha, one with special gifts, and one long-awaited to address a dire need in the universe.
The first season adapts Shadow and Bone and along with an original story featuring the Crows, a criminal gang for which the eponymous ideology is named. The second season will adapt Siege and Storm, and another original storyline featuring the Crows.
In the upcoming season, Alina and Mal will likely be on the run from the Darkling, who will want revenge and Alina’s power. The Crows will be summoned for one of the biggest heists in history. We’re also going to meet some new and important characters in the new season.
Coming to the cast, we should get to see Jessie Mei Li, Archie Renaux, Freddy Carter, Amita Suman, Kit Young, Ben Barnes, Zoe Wanamaker, Lewis Tan, Patrick Gibson, Anna Leong Brophy, Jack Wolfe, Daisy Head, Danielle Galligan and Calahan Skogman.
Shadow and Bone Season 2 Release Date
The developers have not revealed a release date for Shadow and Bone Season 2. Since the show was renewed in 2021, it should release sometime in 2022.
The upcoming season might consist of eight episodes like the first season. The series is produced by 21 Laps Entertainment, Chronology and Loom Studios.
