Based on Slow Horses by Mick Herron, Slow Horses is a spy thriller series, made for Apple TV+. Iain Canning, Hakan Kousetta, Jamie Laurenson, Gail Mutrux, Emile Sherman, Will Smith, Douglas Urbanski, and Graham Yost are the show’s executive producers.

The first season of the series premiered on April 1, 2022, and received positive reviews from critics. It currently holds an approval rating of 94% on Rotten Tomatoes and considering the positive response, the makers renewed the series for a second season. Prior to the release of Season 2, the series has been already renewed for third and fourth seasons.

Slow Horses Season 3 Release Date

Slow Horses was renewed for a third season before the premiere of Season 2. The second season is confirmed to release in 2022 and considering that, Season 3 should premiere sometime in 2023.

The new season might consist of six episodes like the first season and the rest of the details shall be revealed later. The series is produced by See-Saw Films, Flying Studio Pictures, and Sony Pictures Television Studios.

Slow Horses Plot and Cast

The makers have not revealed much about the plot of Season 3 and nothing can be predicted for now since Season 2 has not premiered yet. However, it will definitely continue from where Season 2 would end.

The second season will follow the plot of Dead Lions. Dickie Bow, a one-time low-level informant of Jackson Lamb’s, follows a mysterious character who he recognizes from the old days on a train and then a bus.

Bow ends up dead, apparently of natural causes, but Lamb knows something is up and uses his hopeless team to poke around in long-buried secrets from the Cold War. Being espionage secrets, they naturally don’t stay buried, and soon there’s a very real threat facing the present-day UK.

Coming to the cast, the leads of the first season should reprise their roles. This includes Gary Oldman, Jack Lowden, Kristin Scott Thomas, Saskia Reeves, Olivia Cooke, and others.
