Created by Michelle Buteau and Danielle Sanchez-Witzel, Survival of the Thickest is a comedy-drama television series. It is based on a memoir of the same name where a woman attempted to rebuild her life after a breakup.

Buteau and Danielle are also the executive producers of the series along with Ravi Nandan, Alli Reich, and Anne Hong. After the success of the first season, the developers have renewed the series for another season which will be released soon.

Mavis Beaumont is a Black woman who is currently single and she is trying to adjust herself to the new life. She is pursuing a career as a stylist and facing many hurdles at the same time. She attempts to survive and resolve her issues with friends and relatives. She also works on her career and relationships as she holds a positive attitude along with a cute v-neck and lip gloss.

The cast for the second season is yet to be announced but we hope that all the stars from the previous season will come back which included Michelle Buteau as Mavis Beaumont, Tone Bell as Khalil, Tasha Smith as Marley, Garcelle Beauvais as Natasha Karina, Ambre Anderson as Dr. Britta, Anissa Felix as India, Peppermint as Peppermint, Taylor Selé as Jacque, Marouane Zotti as Luca, Michelle Visage as Avery, and more.

Survival of the Thickest Season 2 Release Date

The series debuted on July 13, 2023. It has hols an approval rating of 85% on the review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes.

The developers have renewed the series for a second season in early 2024 but the official release date is yet to be confirmed. The first season of the series has a total of eight episodes so, we hope that the new season will also have the same number of episodes.
