Created by Charlie Parsons, Survivor is another version of the very famous Survivor reality competition television franchise, which is also an adaptation of the Swedish television series, Expedition Robinson.

The first season of the series premiered on May 31, 2000 on CBS and it continued for 41 more seasons. Compared to the other versions, the American version has received a decent feedback and has been a recipient of several accolades. The latest season premiered on March 9, 2022 and the 43rd season is scheduled to premiere soon.

Survivor Format and Cast

The makers of the show have not announced any changes to the format of the show and the upcoming season will continue in the same way. Further details shall be revealed soon.

The basic format places a group of strangers in an isolated location, where they must provide food, fire, and shelter for themselves. The contestants compete in challenges including testing the contestants’ physical ability like running and swimming or their mental abilities like puzzles and endurance challenges for rewards and immunity from elimination.

The contestants are progressively eliminated from the game as they are voted out by their fellow contestants until only one remains and is given the title of “Sole Survivor” and is awarded the grand prize of US$1,000,000. The show is being hosted by Jeff Probst who is also the executive producer alongside Charlie Parsons and Mark Burnett. We can expect Probst to return as the host in Season 43.

Survivor Season 43 Release Date

Season 42

Survivor was renewed for a 43rd season in March 2022 and the latest season ended on May 25. The new season is now scheduled to premiere on September 21, 2022.

The previous season had 13 episodes in total and the new season is expected to have the same. The show is currently being produced by MGM Television.
