Hello, Reader! The Big LeapSeason 1 will premiere on Fox this fall as one of the network’s newest shows. The show, which was conceived by Liz Heldens, has been given a 10-episode order by Fox, which expects it will be a Glee-like phenomenon.
A contemporary story about second chances, pursuing your aspirations, and reclaiming what is rightfully yours. The show follows a group of unique underdogs from many walks of life as they compete to be a part of a competition reality show that is putting on a modern, hip recreation of Swan Lake. They make up for their lack of classic dancer body type with their humor, edge, and willingness to reinterpret a legendary story to fit their mold.

The Big Leap: Official Trailer
What is this about?
The show is loosely based on the 2014 U.K. reality television show Big Ballet. The original reality show featured 18 amateur dancers who were told they were too obese to perform ballet at one point. They toiled for 20 weeks under the direction of a former Royal Ballet principal to put on a Swan Lake show.
The Big Leap will appear to combine parts of former Fox hits American Idol and Glee to capture the essence of those series.
The official synopsis emphasizes that the show’s roster of characters is diverse, and the first season’s cast appears to have done an excellent job of living up to that expectation.
There will be some famous figures in the cast, such as Scott Foley, Teri Polo, and Piper Perabo, as well as some newcomers to television, such as Simone Recasner. Mallory Jansen, Ser’Darius Blain, Anna Grace Barlow, Jon Rudnitsky, McKenzie Chinn, Kevin Daniels, and Raymond Cham Jr. round out the cast.
